UFO #9
I went back into the archives to have a look at just where the count was at for UFO's. Since I have decided not to restart the count this year (it really has nothing to do with when I get it done, but has everything to do with the number of unfinished projects) , this one is number nine.
I remember getting this pattern from a magazine that I borrowed from the Seattle Public Library in Renton. There were a couple of patterns in this magazine that really intrigued me. One was a baby quilt, that became a gift for a cousin's child, and the other was this maple leaf pattern. Although I really liked it, I really wanted to do in in the batik fabrics that I had in my stash, and since they were only fat quarters, I had to modify the pattern. It really looks nothing like the one in the magazine. I'm still happy with the result, and I really like the contrast between the wild colors and the black. Once again though, I'm not sure what to call it. The flimsy and the backing are ready, so I am taking this one as well to Vancouver, where I hope to buy the batting, and deliver it to the quilter. I still have time to think up a name, and welcome your suggestions as well.
