Saguaro National Forest

This is not the first time that I have been to the Saguaro National forest, just north of Tucson. It was, however the first time there while the cacti were blooming. It was a bit early to get the Saguaro in full bloom, but I managed to take a photo or two of the amazing bloom.


Winter was really dry last year, so we did not get the full palette of grasses,poppies, mallows and lupins, but we did find some quiet blooms- like this ironwood tree. We also came upon some truly striking colored cacti flowers.

Every time I go, there are subtle differences that make it worth while.
