Celebration!
According to the counter, this is my 200th post. This does include two draft posts that are still undergoing construction and have not been set out for your examination. They will surface...
In the meantime, on this occasion, I thought that a link to another blog would be a worthy post. I picked up a free English magazine in the library of our apartment complex. On the very last page of the February edition is a short write up about a German man, a photographer who has been living in Beijing for some years and has given up his life at the Beijing Film academy to walk 15,000 kilometers to Germany. He states that he wants to be tired and be appreciative of being home. He is chronicling his journey on his blog. I had a peek at yesterday's post and a couple more posts in the archives. I am inspired by his intentions.
I'm not sure that I understand the need to walk that much, but I admire his sense of adventure and mostly I like the way he writes about it. He clearly has resided long enough in China to be able to speak fluently, and he understands many things about the culture. For those of you who are interested in writing about journeys, learning more about Chinese culture, and seeing some great photography of obscure corners of China, this is the blog for you. Go look at it here.
