Shanghai Night

We went for a stroll on Saturday night (not this weekend, but one two weeks ago) along the Bund ( a historic paved walkway along the river)- the lights were pretty and I thought that you might enjoy a small show of what we saw there. The night time photos are much prettier than ones taken in the day time; the nearly ever present smog in the city prevents sharp quality photographs. Other than the TV tower ( the one with the two round balls), I don't know the names of the buildings. If you do a google search, there is lots of information on both the Bund and the buildings that make it a special landmark in Shanghai. These night time photos do not capture the tremendous amount of people who were milling around at 8:30 at night. There were people everywhere and the vendors were doing a brisk trade in glowing devil horn headbands.

It took two weeks of trying to get this online. I can't believe it went through!!! Single photos are still giving me some grief, but I now am getting a bit of bolstering. I may just try the others again!

Those photos are stunning! The contrast between the mannered relics of the Bund and the awkward neon frenzy of the new buildings makes me want to jump on a plane right NOW!
