Impressions of Kuala Lumpur

On our first port of call for the cruise, we stopped into Kuala Lumpur. Talk about a muggy day! We took a chartered bus from the dock to the city center as our excursions that day. We were accompanied by a bus load of people with shopping on their minds. Evidently, K.L. (as it is more popularly known) is a often frequented Asian shopping spots, well known for its cheaper prices.

For me, this is how I will remember it: From the TV. tower (we like getting an aerial view of places, but could not go up on the other famous towers since we arrived too late to get the free tickets), you could see temples, mosques and churches placed nearby each other. On the ground, the streets were full of asian women wearing hijab (exposed faces and hands only). This was really my first visit to a largely Muslim country.

The city has lots of extra huge band name malls, where we walked around in the cool air. One of these malls also had a superior food court in the basement where I had a very tasty lunch of Malaysian food, and a GREAT cold milky tea (wish I could have had another).
