Carved Buddha Collection

I began a collection of buddhas when our May guests came to stay in Shanghai and we went to Hangzhou. On my latest trip, the one to Datong, we went to the Yungang Grottoes, or Cloud Ridge Caves (云岗石窟 yún gǎng shí kù. Located there are over 50,000 carved images and statues of Buddhas and Boddhisatvas, which range from 4 centimeters to 7 meters tall. Most of these icons are around 1000 years old. And so I have added to my existing collection.
