Lost Treasure

Still busy tidying things in the house and getting ready- only just over a week before we actually leave. While doing some of those household clean up things, I found a box labelled VCR. Now, I knew that there was no VCR in the box, since it was in the console below the television (or at least it was before yesterday- now it's at the Savers- the American equivalent of Value Village). I expected that the box would be empty. So imagine my surprise when we found the box full, and full of projects that I worked on while in Alert Bay! There were 8 completed blocks from a block of the month kit (I'm taking the hand stitching blocks with me to Shanghai) , some batting, and lots of cool fabric.

I also found a completed flimsy in that box. I have no clue anymore as to what it might be called, so I will have to think of something later. I know that the pinwheels were made with scraps and that I bought the outside fabric especially for this project. I even found the backing material for the lap sized quilt.

I have some very vague recollections of making it.... Anyways, it is done, so I am shipping it to Vancouver so that I can take it to my quilting friend in the fall. I'll still have to run a seam down the edge of the backing fabric but that is literally a 15 minute job, and then find some fabric with which to bind it ( I don't recall seeing that light colored fabric in the rest of my stash). Some times not remembering things has happy endings!
