Cactus League

March 1st marked the first day of the pre season for baseball in Phoenix; many people come from afar in order to see their favorite teams play for really discounted prices. For those of you who are big fans, this is Mecca at one of the holiest holidays of the year. Seeing as I missed all of the games last year, I decided to take my mom and dad ( a big baseball fan) to one of the local games. Making sure that we were coated in sunscreen, we sat in the stands and braved the full sun, 79 degree weather. We had front row tickets over the Milwaukee Brewers dugout, right there at first base. Great view and unimpeded by anyone, even the beer vendor.

The game itself was not that wonderful if you were a Brewer's fan. The team was struggling to work together to overcome the batting strength of the Giants' that day- they lost 10-5. However, we took great pleasure watching the sausage race (between inning entertainment familiar to Brewer's fans), eating the contraband sanwiches we snuck in and watching out for the foul balls.
